Arsenal Japanese defender Oh My… “Injured, I’m sick of it now” lamented

Tomiyasu expressed regret over the injury that occurred again on his social network service (SNS) on the 7th (Korea time), saying, “I’m tired of it.”

“I’m tired of getting injured. But I believe this is a chance to be much stronger,” he said. “I’m still going. I’m not swayed and I keep going.”

Tomiyas started as a right fullback in the 13th round of the 2023/24 Premier League against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium in London, England on the 3rd.

Tomiyasu, who helped Bukayo Saka score the opening goal six minutes into the first half of the match, was replaced by Ben White in the 34th minute of the second half. He collapsed while holding onto his leg during the match, and was replaced after confirmation by medical staff.

“He felt something. I don’t know if it’s because of fatigue. I decided to replace him right away, and I tried not to take any risks. Let’s check and see how he feels,” manager Mikel Arteta said after the match.

Two days later, Arsenal told a pre-match press conference ahead of their 14th round match against Luton Town that Domíaz had suffered a calf strain.

Arteta said, “We tested Tomiyasu. We replaced him as a precaution and we will wait. He is a strong boy and I hope he is okay.” 경마

However, British media reported that Tomiyasu will miss at least three to four weeks due to the injury after the match against Luton Town. He will not be available for Boxing Day in three to four weeks.

On top of that, Tomiyas will have to participate in the 2024 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup, which will start in Qatar in mid-January. If Tomiyas is not able to return to the team before his nomination, Arsenal will not be able to utilize him from December to February.

Tomiyas is sick and tired of his injuries. After moving to Arsenal in the summer of 2021, he was absent for a long time due to calf and knee injuries.

Having suffered a calf injury in February 2022, he missed 11 official matches including the schedule of the Japanese national soccer team against Arsenal for about two months. In March this year, he suffered a knee injury during the UEFA Europa League match and underwent surgery immediately.

Tomiyasu, who failed to take the main position until last season due to minor injuries, gradually improved his performance after knee surgery. He has been playing in 19 official matches and 1,009 minutes for Arsenal this season.

He played as a substitute in the beginning of the season, but he played a good role in the league and the UEFA Champions League since October. He was also awarded the Player of the Month award by Arsenal fans in October. In November, he started due to injuries sustained by other teammates. Arsenal finished well, winning three games and losing one in four matches during this period.

Tomiyasu has also been strongly linked with Bayern Munich, which needed reinforcement due to massive injury to its defense lineup. This means that he has no doubt about his performance.

In late November, Arsenal want to renew their contract with Tomiyasu. The Telegraph, a British media outlet, reported that Tomiyasu still has 18 months left on his contract. “There is also an option to extend his contract by one year. The club is preparing negotiations to extend his contract in the long term.”
