Ohtani started as the second designated hitter at the home game against the Texas Rangers at Dodger Stadium on the 14th (Korea time), and recorded four hits, no strikeouts, and no hit in four times at bat. The Dodgers also lost 1-3. Texas Rangers outfielder Michael Lorenzen was blocked.
Lorenzen, who played with Ohtani in the 2022 Los Angeles Angels, grounded out to the second base in the first inning, drove out to the left field in the third inning, and grounded out to the second base again in the sixth inning. Lorenzen successfully stopped not only Ohtani but also other Dodgers hitters on the day.
He blocked the Dodgers’ lineup by allowing four hits, one homer, one walk, two strikeouts and one run in seven innings. The only loss he gave was a solo homerun to Andy Farras in the bottom of the seventh inning. 동행복권파워볼
The Texas Rangers’ lineup scored points from the beginning. In the first inning, when Josh Smith and Adolis Garcia made consecutive hits to the first and third bases with one out, Nathaniel Rowe hit a grounder to the shortstop to exchange a score and an out. Wyatt Langford then brought in Garcia, who was at the second base, with a hit to the right.
In the third inning, Langford’s missed hit slightly over the first baseman’s height with two outs and runners on first and second bases became a right-handed hit, and he was able to add another point. Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman stretched his arm to catch the over the shoulder, but missed the ball by a narrow margin.
The Texas bullpen well blocked the Dodgers’ pursuit. Taking the mound in the eighth inning, David Robertson sent out leadoff hitter Cavan Biggio to the third base, allowing Austin Barnes a hit to the right, and no outs, but struck out Mookie Betts, Ohtani, and Freeman in succession.
Kirby Yates, who took the mound in the ninth inning, also had a hard time, but managed to secure the game. He walked the first batter, Teoscar Hernandez, and balked to the second base. However, he ended the game with consecutive strikeouts of Prazes and Jason Heyward, and pinch hitter Will Smith.
The Dodgers were disappointed that opener Michael Grove allowed two runs. Ryan Yarbrough allowed two hits, four walks, three strikeouts and one run in three innings, and Johan Ramirez played two innings.
