Travelers International Hotels Group, owner and operator of the Manila casino complex Newport World Resort, has appointed Lawrence Hawke, pictured, as its new CFO. He is due to take office in July.
Known for his 30-year career in the integrated resorts sector, Hawke most recently served as group CFO of Hoiana Resorts and Golf, a Vietnamese complex with a casino dedicated to foreigners located in Da Nang, on the central coast of Vietnam.
The appointee “has significant exposure to the pre-opening and operations of our high-yield luxury Asia integrated resort with both gaming and non-gaming components,” according to a Tuesday release from Travelers International.
Hawke will report to recently appointed Travelers International’s new president and CEO Nilo Rodriguez and work “closely” with Travelers International’s “executive chairman Kevin Tan and COO Lance Gottreo. 메이저사이트
A statement on Tuesday added: “Hawk has been responsible for corporate and operational finance, including analysis, strategic planning, financial control and budget management for much of his professional career.”
In mid-May, Travelers International, an affiliate of Philippine conglomerate Alliance Global Inc, reported first-quarter consolidated net income of the owner to 8 million PHP (currently US$136,485), down about 96% from 214 million PHP a year earlier.
Travelers International said in a statement on June 3 that the company’s former president and CEO, Kingson Xi’an, has “officially retired from the company” with management “since it was founded 16 years ago as the first integrated resort developer in the United States.”
In the same update, Travelers International noted that former COO Hakan Dagtas and former CFO Bernard Tan among those who left the company, which took effect on June 1.
“Both are former venture partners of Alliance Global,” the release said.
In May last year, Alliance Global announced that it had agreed to acquire a now-defunct stake in Genting Hong Kong’s Travelers International.
