Cho Sang-yeol was shunned in the free agent (FA) market in May. He was not selected even during the period of self-negotiation and submission of letters of intent to recruit other teams.
Cho Sang-yeol, who had been selected as the sixth pick in the second round of the rookie draft in January 2012, seemed to retire as he was.
However, he dramatically signed a contract with Daegu Korea Gas Corporation during the renegotiation with the original club. 동행복권파워볼
For the first time since his debut last season, he was paid 130 million won, but was drastically reduced to 50 million won this season.
He had his best year in the 2022-2023 season (4.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 32 games average 17 minutes and 16 seconds), but he was sluggish in the 2023-2024 season (1.4 points, 0.4 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 29 games average 6 minutes and 47 seconds).
Cho Sang-yeol was reunited with Jung Sung-woo while preparing for the 2024-2025 season, holding on to the opportunity with difficulty.
Cho spent the 2016-2017 season with Jung Sung-woo and the 2017-2018 season with the LG Twins in Changwon. Afterwards, Cho played for Busan KT (currently Suwon KT) for three seasons, before moving to Daegu Gas Corporation. Jung also left LG and spent three seasons with KT before joining Gas Corporation. Cho met with Jung after seven seasons.
