After touching the hearts of countless soccer fans, coach Claudio Ranieri (73) is hanging up his boots.
Cagliari Calcio announced the retirement of Claudio Ranieri on the club’s official website on Wednesday, saying, “We would like to express our eternal gratitude to Claudio Ranieri.”
Ranieri began his coaching career at Vigor Lamezia in 1986. He went on to manage Cagliari, SSC Napoli, ACF Fiorentina, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus, AS Roma, Inter Milan, Leicester City, Fulham, and Watford, among others.
Ranieri arrived at Chelsea in 2000, and his shrewd signings of Frank Lampard, Emmanuel Petit, Jesper Cronkar, and William Gallas have been instrumental in shaping the Blues into the club they are today.
