Supporters of Virginia’s skill game believe Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s latest amendment to the General Assembly’s latest bill will hurt small businesses. For context, the governor has rewritten much of the bill.
Under the revised law, skill games are banned within 35 miles of commercial casinos or sports betting facilities. Youngkin also wants to make sure that he cannot offer skill games within 2,500 feet of educational or religious institutions.
But proponents of skill games were quick to point out that the law would make the majority of the state virtually inaccessible, with the exception of remote rural areas.
In addition, Senator Bill Stanley, an avid sponsor of skill games, questioned the governor’s decision to ban the provision of skill games near schools and churches, considering that he removed similar restrictions on methadone clinics. 안전놀이터 추천
Stanley slammed Youngkin’s amendment, accusing him of respecting heroin addicts more than small business owners.
