HAM JEONG-WOO AND LEE JUNG-HWAN, WHO CHALLENGED LIV GOLF, FAILED TO ADVANCE TO THE THIRD ROUND

All Korean players who challenged the LIV Golf League, run by the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund (PIF), suffered a setback. Ham Jeong-woo, the winner of the Genesis Grand Prize for the 2023 season of the Korea Professional Golf Tour, missed the cut after finishing tied for 22nd place (2-under 70) in the second round of the promotional tournament at Abu Dhabi Golf Club (Par 72) in the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday (July 10). Only the top 20 players in the second round qualify for the third round of the tournament, which offers a spot on the LIV Golf roster for next season.

Lee Jeong-hwan also failed to advance to the third round after tying for 22nd place with Ham Jeong-woo in the second round. Other Korean players who competed in LIV promotional tournaments, including Go Gun-taek, also failed to make it past the second round. Sutipat Prethipthienchai (Thailand) shot an 8-under-par 64 to finish in first place and advance to the third round.
