The aftermath of LeBron James’s son Bronny’s nomination to the Lakers is brewing.
Fox Sports’ Rob Parker strongly criticized the Lakers’ nomination of Bronny on the 4th (Korea Standard Time). 파워볼사이트
“It’s the worst move in the history of professional sports,” he said. “When I say that, it’s really serious. It changes the nature of the game about competition. This is what we’ve always talked about, and that’s why the league exists even though 99% of the owners of the NFL are white and 70% of the players are black.”
Parker went on to accuse the Lakers of picking players who didn’t deserve to be picked.
“It stinks of nepotism. It will harm James’ legacy,” he said, implying that LeBron James is the one who runs the Lakers instead of the owner.
In fact, Bronny doesn’t have the skills to be selected for the rookie draft. Nevertheless, the Lakers’ decision to stay James is highly likely to be a “struggle.”
If Bronny doesn’t succeed in “hollowing out” with the Lakers, the Lakers are expected to suffer from “victimism” sarcasm for a while.
Meanwhile, Yahoo Sports and others reported on the 4th that James plans to sign a two-year, maximum $104 million contract with the Lakers less than a day after the Lakers signed a four-year guarantee contract with his son, Bronny.
The deal is said to include player options and a no-trade clause.
Earlier in the day, James gave up his player option for the 2024-2025 season.
His agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN that James was willing to cut his pay so the Lakers could sign an “impact player.”
James is the oldest player in the NBA, but he is showing no signs of slowing down. He averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in 35 minutes per game during the 2023-2024 season.
James joined the Lakers in 2018 and signed a four-year, $154 million contract. He then signed a two-year, $97.1 million extension in 2022.
