The KBA 3×3 Korea Tour 2024 Sejong Competition has kicked off. The upcoming competition will take place at the complex community center in Hamill-dong, Sejong from June 6 to 7. 66 teams will compete in six categories: elementary, middle school, high school, men’s open, women’s open and men’s Korean League.

It is the first time that a Korea tour will be held in Sejong. Among them, Sejong Black Label, which is based in Sejong, will take its first step in establishment through the Sejong Competition. Sejong Black Label, which used to be an active Black Label Sports, announced its launch in earnest at an inaugural ceremony last month.

Sejong Black Label is a team of players who have played in existing Black Label sports, including Song Chang-moo, Park Rae-hoon, Lee Hyun-seung, and Seok Jong-tae. 동행복권파워볼

Kim Jong-soo, CEO of Black Label Sports, and Kim Mi-sun, CEO of Dahae Nam Co., Ltd. and head of the Sejong City Basketball Association, seriously considered creating a 3×3 team and decided to officially establish a team under the name of “Sejong Black Label.” Sejong Black Label has been able to operate the team stably with full support from the Sejong City Sports Council.

Park Rae-hoon, the team’s main gun, said, “I founded the team last month, and I feel very special because it will be held in Sejong, my hometown. Also, I am glad that the Korea Tour is held in Sejong for the first time. I would like to say thank you to Chairman Kim Mi-sun of the Sejong City Basketball Association, CEO Kim Jong-soo of Black Label, and officials of the Sejong City Sports Association for helping the 3×3 team be founded.”

Sejong Black Label, which was named the first champion of the National Sports Festival last year, is considered a strong candidate for the championship in every competition, but has yet to win the title, as it is the second runner-up. As it is the first competition to participate under the name Sejong Black Label and is held on its home turf, it is determined that it will definitely lift the trophy in this competition.

It got off to a good start. The Sejong Black Label in Group B easily advanced to the final by beating Cosmo and JBY SPORTS in succession. The first preliminary match against the favorite, Cosmo, was like a preview final. The two teams exchanged fierce battles from the beginning, and Sejong Black Label won 22-20.

Seok Jong-tae, center, said, “I lost in both previous competitions unfortunately, and failed to lift the trophy. I want to win this championship as it is held at home,” expressing his strong desire to win the title.

The creation of the 3×3 team by Sejong Black Label also has significant implications for Korea’s 3×3 team. Although it is not a pure local government 3×3 team like Inje, it is expected that a new story will be created in Korea’s 3×3 team, which suffered a slump for a while due to the establishment of Sejong Black Label.

Park Rae-hoon said, “Just like I did when I was young, I want to enhance my competitiveness and make fun stories in the 3×3 edition. I will work together with my teammates to make a great team.”
