Rhode Island’s sports betting handle falls 6.5% in January

Rhode Island saw its sports betting handle hit $44.8 million in January, down sharply from $47.9 million in December and the lowest since September. The handle was also down 28.1% year-over-year.

Despite the drop in handling, it has been a good month for sportsbooks, which have racked up $5 million in total revenue, more than a fifth higher than $4.1 million in December and the highest since Rhode Island began the new fiscal year.
