The Commonwealth Games Federation, Andrews Labor Government and Commonwealth Games Australia released a list of sports on October 4, including debutants to be included in the 2026 Games. Victoria 2026 will run from March 17-29, 2026, with four regional hubs in Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong and Gibbsland, offering a multi-city model that captivates people across Victoria.

“Victoria 2026 is proposing to add disabled sports sectors in golf, coastal rowing and road (cycle) racing and will work with the Commonwealth Games Federation and related International Sports Federations to determine whether this is possible,” the Commonwealth Games Federation said in an official statement.

Golf, 3×3 Basketball, 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball, Coastal Rowing, Shooting, Parachuting, BMX Racing, Mountain Bicycle Cross Country, Track Cycling and Paratrack Cycle have already been added to the impressive sports lineup, with Coastal Rowing, Golf and BMX debuting in the Commonwealth Games. Victoria 2026 is also proposing to add para sports events to golf, coastal rowing and road racing, and will work with the Commonwealth Games Federation and related international sports federations to determine whether this is possible.

“Australia is delighted that Victoria 2026 will include new sports and training that will lead the game to an exciting new era,” said Ben Houston, president of Commonwealth Games Australia. “This will inspire a whole new wave of athletes to make their dreams come true over the next four years.
