Until regulatory approval, Grand Casino Biloxi is expected to reopen in mid-to-late 2006 following a large-scale renovation project. The building’s existing ground facilities, including the Bayview Hotel Tower and Convention Center, will be completely redesigned and rebuilt with a 500-room hotel and a casino with a steakhouse, 300-seat buffet, swimming pool, and 16,000-square-foot full-service spa. The resort is initially expected to employ more than 1,000 employees.
“We are excited to begin rebuilding on the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said Gary Loveman, president, CEO, and CEO of Hara Entertainment. “Grand will return with the high quality casino entertainment experience our customers have been looking forward to. We look forward to contributing to the recovery of the tourism industry on the Gulf Coast and getting our employees back to work as soon as possible.”
Karen Sock, who was previously the senior vice president and general manager of Grand Casino Gulfport, will be appointed as the senior vice president and general manager of Grand Casino Biloxi on condition of regulatory approval. With more than two decades of experience in the gaming and hospitality industries, Sock served as vice president of human resources at Harrah’s New Orleans before joining Grand Casino Gulfport in June 2005. She will report to Tom O’Donnell, president of Harra’s Gulf Coast region.
The summer reopening will be the first step for Harrah to develop a global resort in the Biloxi market. The project is in the design phase focusing on the opportunities offered by the introduction of coastal-based games. Harrah expects to announce preliminary plans for the development in mid-2006.
“In the coming months and years, we will develop our property in Biloxi into a true destination resort based on our essential holiday destination location on the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said Anthony Sanfilippo, president of Hara’s Central Division. 메이저 토토사이트
