“UFC Fight Night Macau,” the first UFC-branded mixed martial arts event in 10 years, will take place at Galaxy Arena on Nov. 23.

According to a press release from Casino Group on Thursday, Galaxy Entertainment’s chief operating officer Kevin Kelly, second right in the photo, and UFC senior vice president and Asia representative Kevin Chang, second left, represented both sides to attend the ceremony.

It quoted Zhang as saying: “We are delighted to be back in this amazing destination city. Our last UFC fight was in 2014, 10 years ago, and since then, our brand has grown dramatically.”

“We are proud to collaborate with Galaxy Macau and want to put on an amazing show at the state-of-the-art Galaxy Arena to please fans in the region.”

Mr Kelly said hosting the UFC event to Macau represents a “luxurious” addition to Galaxy Macau’s international sports tournament portfolio.

The Galaxy Arena is a 16,000-seat multi-purpose arena within the Galaxy Macau Resort (GICC). Adjacent to the GICC, the Andaz Macau Hotel is part of the Galaxy Macau Phase III.

UFC is part of TKO Group Holdings, headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, and is a U.S.-listed sports entertainment promoter.

Previously, UFC fights in Macau were a 2012 UFC fight night and a 2014 UFC fight, taking place at the kotai arena in Venetian Macau, a kotai casino facility promoted by Sands China.
