FC Seoul wins 3rd Full Stadium-Plus Stadium Award in K League 1

Professional soccer league FC Seoul has won two box office awards for the 2023 season.

The club won both the “Full Stadium” award, which recognizes the club with the highest attendance, and the “Plus Stadium” award, which honors the club with the largest year-over-year increase in attendance, according to the third round of K League 1 club awards for the 2023 season, announced by the Korea Professional Football Association on Wednesday.

Seoul won both awards in the first round (Rounds 1-13) of this season’s awards, and also won the Full Stadium award in the second round (Rounds 14-26).

In this third evaluation period, Rounds 27-38 of the K League 1, Seoul attracted the highest average paid attendance of 24,294 for its six home matches.

This is an increase of 7,238 fans from the second evaluation period, and Seoul also won the Plus Stadium award.

The Fan Friendly Club award, which recognizes the club with the most fan-friendly activities, went to Daejeon Hana Citizens.

The team received the highest score of 93.2 points based on the first jury evaluation (40 percent) and the second group vote (40 percent journalists and 20 percent fans), earning them their second consecutive award.

The team was praised for hosting the Hana Bank Cup Daejeon Love Football Tournament, its ESG campaign to become a carbon-neutral league, and donating proceeds from auctions of player jerseys and memorabilia.

In K League 2, Busan I-Park swept the Full Stadium and Plus Stadium awards, while Bucheon FC won the Fan Friendly Club award.

The ‘Green Stadium’ award, which evaluates the condition of the stadium’s turf, went to Gangneung General Stadium of K League 1 Gangwon FC and Tancheon General Stadium of K League 2 Seongnam FC. 토토
