Professional golfer Kim Hyo-joo returns to top 10 in world rankings

Professional golfer Kim Hyo-joo (Wonju) has returned to the world’s top 10.

The runner-up at the Freddie Mac Women’s Open in Scotland on the Ladies Professional Golf (LPGA) Tour is ranked seventh in the latest Women’s Golf World Rankings released on Monday.

After dropping to No. 11 last week, Kim quickly returned to the top 10.

Kim, who has consistently been ranked in the top 10, fell out of the top 10 on March 31 when she dropped from No. 8 to No. 11.

With her return to the top 10, she is now one of two Koreans in the top 10, along with second-place Ko Jin-young.

Kim shot 7-under par in the final round of the Freddie Mac Scottish Women’s Open on Sunday to finish two strokes back in second place.

Celine Boutier (FRA), who held off a late charge from Kim to win, moved up one spot from fourth to third.

Nellie Koda (USA) and Jin Young Ko (KOR) remained in first and second place, while Yin Luning (CHN) moved up to fourth and Lydia Ko (NZL), who was third, dropped to fifth.
