The eCOGRA Implementation Survey

The eCOGRA (eCommerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assistance), an organization of player protection and standards for online gambling, announces the launch of the much-anticipated survey of global online gambling companies. Today, millions of poker and casino players around the world will be offered the opportunity to have a say in what has been widely reported as the biggest research initiative on online gambling companies’ behaviors and attitudes.

The survey, which covers areas such as poker, casinos, player protection, responsible gambling, and luck, will be promoted to players with unprecedented support from leading software providers, operators and portals, as well as eCOGRA’s own liaison database.

The results are expected to better understand the needs and concerns of the players and hear directly from them about what makes a rewarding and safe online gambling experience.

With software working with most of the online casino industry’s sales, eCOGRA members 888, Microgaming, and Ongame are supporting the survey, along with many operators who have received the eCOGRA “Play It Safe” stamp. In addition, more than 30 top online gambling portals and other major operators will promote the survey through their hyperlinks on the website and expansion into the online gambling community.

Andrew Beveridge, CEO of eCOGRA, said, “Our goal was to maximize participation in this groundbreaking project, one of the largest projects ever undertaken in all areas. Only a small number of players on reputable sites will be unaware of the survey in the coming weeks, and we urge everyone to complete it completely. This result will inform gamblers and organizations of future decisions that we hope will provide a better understanding of how this fast-expanding industry has developed and where it is heading, ultimately leading to greater improvements in standards in all aspects of the industry.”

The survey, devised by a leading gambling research team at Nottingham Trent University and backed by the University of Nevada (Las Vegas), will be supplemented by qualitative focus groups from six major markets in the industry, including the U.S., U.K., Japan, Canada, Germany and Sweden, due to take effect in October. The resulting “eCOGRA Global Online Gambler Report” will be open to the public in January 2007. 슬롯머신

“The survey was conducted at a critical time in the United States,” said Frank Catania, a board member of the eCOGRA. “By collaborating with two universities that are experts in the field, we can offer online gamblers the opportunity to express themselves and talk about their experiences with the online gaming industry.” Players can check out the survey at eCOGRA.org/playersurvey and anyone wishing to promote the survey can contact eCOGRA directly for a hyperlink.
