Men’s and women’s archery sweep team gold at Olympic outposts…

The world’s strongest archery team swept the men’s and women’s team gold medals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The Korean women’s archery team, comprised of Lim Im-hyun (Korea Gymnastics University), Jeon Hoon-young (Incheon City Hall) and Nam Soo-hyun (Suncheon City Hall), defeated France 6-0 (58-55 58-55 59-53) in the final of the women’s recurve team event at the third edition of the 2024 Modern Archery World Cup in Antalya, Turkey, on Wednesday (Feb. 23).

The women’s team, who advanced to the final after defeating Japan in a shootout in the semifinals on Tuesday, put on a flawless performance on the day, not dropping a single shot.

The women’s team lost the team gold medal to China in both the first and second tournaments, but the victory boosted their morale in their final international tournament a month before the Olympics.

The men’s team of Kim Woo-jin (Cheongju City Hall), Lee Woo-seok (Kolon) and Kim Jeduk (Yecheon County Hall) also took the top spot with a 5-1 (56-55 57-55 56-56) victory over France in the recurve team final.

The men’s team won silver at the first edition of the event and then combined for back-to-back fours team titles at the second edition in Yecheon, Gyeongbuk, and this third edition.

Lee Woo-seok and Jeon Hoon-young were paired together in the mixed final, where they fell to Japan 4-5 (35-36 40-35 37-34 36-37 <18-20>) in a shootout.

Lee Woo-seok and Jeon Hoon-young seemed to set the tone in the second set with all of their arrows at 10 points, but Lee’s last arrow in the fourth set landed at 8 points, forcing the match into a shootout.

In the shootout, which was decided by one shot each, Japan had both players shoot extensions (center of 10).

Lee Woo-seok shot a 10, but Jeon Hoon-young’s arrow fell short at 8.

Kim Woo-jin will go for gold in the men’s individual semifinals later in the day.

The third edition of the World Cup is the last international competition before the Olympics.

After the tournament, the team will return home for final training.

The team will play a special match between the national teams on March 4 to get a feel for the game, and on March 28, they will practice noise adaptation at a K League 1 match between Jeonbuk Hyundai and FC Seoul at Jeonju World Cup Stadium.

The team plans to focus on training and not do any media activities such as interviews until the Olympics. 사설토토
